Flanders& Bluego!
You two should arrange a meet up. It would be like the rumble in the Jungle part 2 but with Charles Hawtrey V Russell Harty!!!!

Curly
A crusty old hippy...I can feel myself gagging!!

But as a true soul man from the 70`s lets just close by reiterating the legendary
Lenny Kravitz`s words `Whats so Funny about `peace love & understanding`!
To all you Brugges/blues bros! I will always be looking out for your teams results!

villa is the only team in Brum

Klootzak

Is that Belgium for "t**t"? I hope so...

And its me that lives in Kingstanding Parti, not the "other" Elvis... **thumbup

I knew there was an Elvis or something on here that lived there

Actually I have two longstanding mates in Kingstanding (excuse the pun) .....well one is in Great Barr but it's close and he's a ST holder

They are Blues fans for 40 years or so as well so good to see we have decent representation over on the North Side :applause:

Pagoda Park already mentioned

Edwards Number 8 was the night club next to the pub (Number 7)

There was a club called 'Incognito' just off Hurst St.....same street as The Shamrock I think

Apologies, parti, once again I have confused you with someone else. I guess the Alzheimers is kicking in.

That was me Curly, yea I knew E.C. wrote it but Lenny`s version is better!

Anyway regarding clubs in the 60`s/70`s. My fave haunt was the Heartbeat, but also used `Le Metro` and as from when it opened 1970/71 Rebeccas! Although the first club i ever went to was the legendary Ceder off constitution Hill.
Also be interesting to see who owns up to this one but after going to see The Freddie Mack show at the townhall (he was a Geno Washington style soulband)
I went with a couple of lads who I met there to a nightclub directly opposite The Council house above a McColls newsagent, overlooking Victoria square.

When we paid to get in I was confronted with men dancing with each other!!! I was barely 16 and totally gobsmacked! I spun round and shot back out the door with the laughter of the doormen accompanying me down the stairs!!

You all know how it works - reputations made off reputations etc.

Blues are preceded by theirs as a handful of clubs in this country still are.

Bruges could have been a disaster. After the game I bumped into a well known (in his field) news correspondent with photographer from a very well known English tabloid who had been sent there by his desk specifically in anticipation of it 'going off' as a number of 'faces' would be in attendance.

Can't believe SNOBS is still there....that is amazing

Yep Snobs is still there... sticky floors and dirt cheap drinks to boot. **thumbup

Last season I had a reminice and went from the blues ground, to the Trocadero, the midland hotel and then onto snobs, followed by kebab and taxi home... made me feel young again. :LMAO:

There was a sign on the door that read "Come inside and enlargen the circle of your friends"
